UHAUL won't let you tow a cargo trailer behind a Jeep Wrangler if it has a soft top, but if you have a hard top its ok....so....another one of the cases where what sense does that make LOL.
UHAUL tried to deny renting a tow dolly to me once because I showed up to pick it up in my Ranger. They said the vehicle (1991 Ford Tempo) couldn't be towed with the Ranger and Tow dolly, I said I'm just picking the dolly up on my way home I will be towing the dolly and the car behind my Jeep Grand Cherokee...that was fine....I wouldn't have even tried doing that tow with the Ranger LOL, especially with the place I was having to haul it to. Yeah maybe across town would have been ok, but not on that winding narrow hairpin curve road....there's reasons behind UHAUL's policies, and stuff like that is one reason.
The 2019 Ranger is apparently ok to tow the UHAUL cargo trailers though, and a couple of their open bed utility type trailers....probably due to stability and braking concerns? Who knows.
