whole drivetrain swap

ok.. new on here and have a question. is it possible to swap the entire drivetrain out of a 1978 f150 with a 351c bored and stroked out to a 400 with a c6 tranny, transfercase, and front/rear axles?? and will i run into any major problems doing it? thanks

Welcome to TRS Anything is possible and quite a few V8 swaps have been done here, use the search icon in the top navigation bar to view others that have done this with pics...You will need an oil filter relocation kit, custom mounts, etc.

Yes, its possible. 302-based swaps are easier due to steering clearance, but 351 swaps have been done many times.

where can i get the oil filter relocation parts at? and as far as the mounts are you talking about motor mounts or transmission?. anything else that you can name off the top of your head. i dont have the truck yet im just trying to get an idea on how much of a process this is going to be and how much money i am dumping into it. thanks.

OFR can be had by some autoparts stores, I got mine from www.summitracing.com The mounts are the motor mounts, the trans will be reused...Click here for more info
