Been looking all morning-- yeah, yeah I'm 'pose to be working-- for a 4.88 gear set for the D35. Yukon doesn't list D35 anymore. Precsion does but only 5.13 and 4.56. Richmond only lists rear applications.

I'm really getting pissed at all this. I orginally ordered front and rear gears from Motive Gear as they list Ranger/Explorer but it doesn't fit. They're for the 98 and newer.

I know TRS Fab lists them but the shipping would hurt as I'm in Canada.

Ideas anyone ??

There seems to have been some friction between Precision Gear and the people who acquired them a couple years back (see this post on Pirate4x4.com). I don't think they've been turning out ANY gears for some time now.
Unfortunately it seems Precision Gear was the only one who was making certain ratios for our axles (others like Yukon were reboxed Precisions).

I'd get on the phone with both of these places and let them know you're looking for D35R gears, hopefully one or both of them will restart production sometime soon.

FWIW, Precision was acquired by a J00p outfit, and who knows if they have any interest in maintaining the broad list of apps Precision maintained  I'd start with Motive.

Nobody is making the 5.13's for the Dana 35 reverse rotation. I would suggest that if anyone sees a good set used that you snatch them up.

Here is where i got my gear set. THe website has almost everything u could want.... Even 4.88's they have listed... http://www.accuautoparts.com/
You know what ?? This is the exact part number

http://www.accuautoparts.com/axledetails.jsp?parts_id=MOT:D35-488F

that I have and it doesn't fit. I'm still waiting for the replacement from my supplier but I'm not confidant that'll fit right. According to the Motive Gear website -- when it was working properly-- the TTB D35 gear set is listed as the same as 98 and newer IFS D35. I specificly called my supplier and asked directly " Does this gearset fit the Explorer D35 from 90 to 94 ?".

Still waiting. Just getting a back up plan in place just in case.

I'm really hoping the Motive Gear set was just boxed wrong.

You say that like they're gone for good.

If thats the case, where did you hear this from?
