I'm considering building a twin turbo 5.0 for a ranger I'm just wanting some feedback from those who know something about turbos. my questions are

What horse power should i expect with twin t3/t4s on a roller 5.0 EFI rebuilt with forged pistons?

whats the best options for fuel/ignition management?

thanks

You can make far more power with twins than the stock 5.0 block will ever hold (~500rwhp). A properly sized single turbo is a much better idea in terms of cost, performance, complexity, ect.

I really like Megasquirt.

Power is a question of money. How much do you want to spend?

What Fuel, Compression Ratio and PSI are you thinking of running?

Megasquirt is an easy an affordable option to run any motor.

i did it on my drag car. 93 foxbody 347 stroker garrett twin turbo tuned by proline racing in woodstock ga. granted my block wasnt stock so i could hold more hp and nothing really was stock ford parts i ended up spending about 23 grand on the engine and drive train and another 12 grand on the chassis. the end result was 960rwhp enough to scare the poop out of me the fisrt time i raced it after i just ad a built engine and nos. turbos make a HUUUGEEEE difference

If your doing it yourself, and even when it comes to a lot of kits, twin's and single turbo set up don't vary in price. I have seen a ton of cars that have more power out of a single than twins on the same motor, and 302's have a lot of examples of that.

As for the block, its rated to 500hp, but there are guys running throttle body to oil pan stock 302's, with turbo set ups, running any where from 600-700rwhp and more. Once you pass the 500hp mark tho, your on borrowed time.

10lbs on a complete stock 5.0 will put you close if not just over 400rwhp. fuel system would be a walbro 255, 42lb injectors and a blow thru m/a meter, and a burnt chip. or easier than that is a stock 5.0, torker intake and a holley carb converted to blow thru. fuel can be a inline 255 and a return style boost referenced regulator, cheap good one is mallory 4309. ignition consists of a efi distributor locked out.
