FYI Truxxx has a 40% discount on their leveling kits right now. I narrowed it down to BDS or Truxxx and checked their price today and jumped on it, only $91 for the strut spacers. I had their front and rear kit on my old Sport Trac and it's quality stuff. 1.5", 2.5", or 3.5". Coupon code is Truxxx40.
**Note: I am not affiliated with Truxxx in any way, just pointing out a good deal.**

Fast shipping. I went with the 1.5” since my garage is already tight.

Shop near my office quoted me over $400 for installation and alignment.
Looked at some videos and the TRS Tech Library and it doesn't look too bad and I think I have all the necessary tools so I may try it myself this weekend since the weather is supposed to be good.
If @lil_Blue_Ford and @sgtsandman get a call for help you'll know I have problems.
Alignment by itself is $100.

Well, as it happens, I’m currently at the GFs with some of my tools so not very far from you at all right now. Had to diagnose and fix a no-start on her car with my buddies help yesterday so I’m staying here a few days

Well, I gave up after an hour. Got the skidplate off and then I couldn't get the plugs out of the power steering pump.
Instructions from Truxxx and our Tech Library say to pull them out. The guy from Stage 3 Motorsports on YouTube didn't seem to touch them.
My biggest fear is breaking something that will cost 10x as much to fix as what I was going to save myself. I've done that a time or two.
Thanks.

Well, if you want one of us to look at things and see what we can do I’m willing to help and I’m sure @sgtsandman would too

Okay, thanks. Basically it's disconnect the upper ball joint and tie rod ends, pull the knuckle out of the way without pulling the axle shaft out of the axle, remove strut, bolt the spacer on, and reassemble. But then I've never done this sort of work before. And you have to get an alignment done after.

It’s been awhile, but it sounds pretty similar to what I helped my buddy do to his Toyota a few years back. It’s a little bit of mucking around, but not all that bad usually. And if I remember right, it doesn’t affect your alignment as bad as lifting a TTB front. Still needs aligned, just doesn’t get as wicked noticeable.

You have to be careful not to pull the outer CV apart.

Someone on here had it happen... and I believe the dealer installed the lift. Can't remember who it was though.

My level is only 1.5" so it shouldn't throw it off too much.

Yeah, I planned on putting a tie-down or bungee around it to keep that from happening.

I was gone for the weekend. I have this Saturday off if you need help but only Saturday. Mother's Day being Sunday would not work out well if I was wrenching on a vehicle then. The following weekend is drill and an exercise to see if we still know how to do military things.

I also loosed the wheel nut so I could tap the cv axle loose to get more clearance to reinstall the new assembly. Ididnt have to take it all the way out. Backed nut to edge of threads and put a socket on it and tapped it with a hammer till it backed out enough I could drop it a little more. Passenger side went in no issues. Didn't have to mess with the cv at all. And FYI if your spacer is about 1.5 inches tall your gonna get 2.5 to 3 inches of lift. I don't understand why haha that's just how mine worked haha

Thanks. I have my window cleaning jobs on Saturday but I’m usually home by 1:00. Only if you’re not busy with anything else. An extra pair of hands and expertise never hurts, Jon too if he’s free. I can pay you guys in beer.:beer:

Do you have all the tools you need? If not, I can look to see what I have. Like the sockets for the half shaft nuts as an example. I have a kit.
