Trouble in Paradise

replaced the abs sensor, 154 miles later, eratic speedometer crap, took it out, put the old one back in, got a refund and drive it without a speedo and hard shifting again...

I smell a slight electrical burning smell through the vents every time i drive it, and it brings me back to how my trucks abs sensor and computer did not work when i got it originally.... possibly a short somewhere....?

Any known problems like this?

Start the truck with a cold engine and feel the harnesses for a hot/warm to the touch wire/wire bundle....then single out the wire that is hot to the touch

also feel each component for overheating before the engine area gets to operating temperature

look for insulation on a wire that is "crinkly/distorted-looking caused by a short somewhere and trace the wire end-to-end.

I completely agree , its very annoying, apparently my father wants to use it for this winter while Im away so he is hiring someone to fix it for us, about $300-$400 to fix it, total invested+truck cost = $2300, so far? worth it.
