My credo
Doing things wrong, until I get it right.
I despise the start stop in my wife's Bronco to a level words cannot describe.
I hated it too, in the beginning. Now I'm a little easier on the braking and I have learned to defeat it, on our Santa Fe. My MIL's Highlander is the same way. Hard stops seem to activate the "stop" more than the slow gradual braking. I basically stop like I have I glass of water I'm trying not to spill, never depressing the brake to the floor.

Also, there's a cancel button on most cars that have this feature.

Cancel gets used.

Really neat when I stop in the driveway and it shuts off. I put it in part so it restarts. Then I can shut it off again.

That's what I'm saying about softer stops. I've learned to defeat that annoying sequence of events.

Its not ever bothered me in automatic trans cars, but it’s really bad in manual trans cars.

every time you put it in neutral and let off the clutch it turns the engine off.

Oh yeah, for jeep. Etorque is standard for both the 3.6 and 5.7 for ram.

Ive become religious about shutting it off. First day i had it i forgot to was sitting at a stoplight and started cussing it cause i thought it stalled.

That shit has to be hard as hell on a starter.

The starters are built for it, we hardly ever sell them.

Back when I had my shitty 2.0 Ranger, I knew nothing about carbs, or motors, lol, and at one point I had to shut off/restart at red lights. That summer of '94 was the first time I ever rebuilt a starter.

Why did you have to do that?
