forecast was for temps of 95 and 105 for heat index.
it's noon, there is a light rain which brought the temp down to 79.
if the sun comes out I'm sure it will get worse.

EDIT: sun did come out, it's muggy but only 89 now.

Power went out yesterday at 3:17, still out now. At least we still have water and stove top burners.
We lost power around midnight Wednesday night when it was hot. Just long enough to go "oh great, here wr go" run out to check the breaker on the light pole and call it in. She asked if I wanted called when the power is back, "no I will figure it out when life support comes back online"

And it is still hanging in there...

They were saying today was supposed to be in the 90’s with heat indexes over 100. Now they’re claiming we topped out at 88, but the heat index is like 105 and humidity is like 70% with a chance of strong thunderstorms. I know it is feeling pretty brutal out, I’m sweating like crazy just walking around outside. Had to go fetch a couple things and now I’m trying to do what I can in the shade. Kinda hoping for a thunderstorm to see if it will knock some of this heat and humidity out, but that usually only works if the sun doesn’t come out after the rain and turn things to tropical rainforest levels…

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
We’re not doing too bad here. 93 deg, 50%humidity, heat index of 101

It was like that when I found it.
Made it to 98 and 107 HI. Then the storms hit. Quite the light show coming up 270 this evening. Four lanes all doing about 20mph. Thought the truck was going to roll a couple times. Allegedly 70mph winds. I'll be picking up debris all morning tomorrow...

It’s hot, humid, and now rainy here in northeast Iowa. Hotter than it usually gets- high of 98 today! And a humidity of 80%. Yeah I felt like I was gonna die.

Because Florida is even hotter and more humid. Thus why the dream is to move to Tennessee after I retire. Take the edge off winter but not have the stifling heat and humidity of the deep south during the summer.

Today it was 96 with 10% humidity. Right now it is 74 with 26% humidity. The low tomorrow morning is going to be about 60.

when i left corpus to drop my parent's travel trailer, thursday at 1445, the outside temp gauge said 104. when we got to my parents at 1945, the gauge said 102. when the sun went down, the temp finally dropped to 100.

no idea what the heat index was though

i don't know why it is warmer on the coast in corpus but not other places. port aransas is way cooler and only 20 miles away, by car or bike. closer as the crow flies.

kingsville is inland and a good way away so i expect them to be hotter because they have no ocean breeze like we do.

robstown is almost the same as us, but they are inland. they are probably 20 miles away too.

alice is about an hour and no ocean breeze
