Tire Experience/Opinion ?

Looking to replace my 10 year old Cooper AT3 with BFGoodrich's All-Terrain T/A KO2 on my 2010 Sport 4X4 (255/70/16)

Anyone have experience with the BFGoodrich's All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires on their Ranger ?

I have on a full size f250. Very good tires. Aggressive but not too noisy. Very good tread wear. Mine dry rotted before the tread wore out.

Personally.. id go for some general grabbers. Same tread pattern, slightly deeper tread, and an additional 10k miles for the treadwear warranty iirc.. cheaper than the bfg's too last time I checked.

Ive on my second set on my F250, have a set on my grand cherokee as well.

Best tire out there IMO. They do great in everything but mud...they tend to cake up fast. They also like to pitch stones.

Besides that....i have zero complaints.

Grabbers are good tires too, thats whats on the back end of my ranger. Cant speak for wear cause i dont put a ton of miles on them but they bite as good as the BFG.

I prefer the looks of the BFG though...but i wouldnt scoff at either. I woulda put grabbers on my jeep if they had the size i needed

First world problems, I wish the white letters were bigger like BFG.

On the back of a 2.9 truck they should last until dry rot sets in.

I had them on my Ranger for a couple years. They’re good except in the wrong mud. Currently have them in my F250, I believe. Went to BFG mud Terrains on the Ranger.

A couple sets of BFG ko2's I had dry rotted long before tread wear dictated replacement.

Decided I'd never buy another set.

I have a set on the 2011, they have been a great tire. As previously mentioned, all terrains do have a problem with certain kinds of mud.

The tread design does present a bit of a water dispersion problem. The General Grabber tire has a similar tread pattern, so will have similar issues. It's not a big problem but you can feel it in heavy rain.

As far as the BFGs vs the Generals, it depends on if you off road more often. While the Generals aren't a bad trail tire, it has better on road manners. The BFGs have a 3 ply side wall over the 2 ply in the Generals.

It all depends on your focus and priorities.

I coulda got my 2wd F250 through that with the BFG's. They self clean pretty good at 40mph

They fling rocks rather well also.

KO2 are very good tires in my experience, a bit better than the Generals in traction performance for me, and my experience is that both of those will wear funny if the alignment is not spot on, so at the very least plan to rotate the tires often.
