no problem. thats a good list but this is what i would change. (refer to the red)

1.bed cage from dixonbrosracing or camburge
2.deaver F-31 leaf springs
3.fox 2.5COLOR] shocks or 3.0 in 14" or 16" travel shocks
4. use stock flipped shackles and rear hangers

took the truck out to pismo a week ago for a nice anniversary trip with the wife. truck handled good but i had a hard time driving because it was my first trip. got stuck twice but i self recovered from both times. i leaned that you need to stay on the gas the hole time. after a little while i got the hang of it. having the shell was perfect. the windows fog up really good.

this past weekend i melted and burned new metal to the truck. im building a receiver/ bumper and making space for a 32 tall spare. future plans for the rear area of the fram to be for canti shock set up or fuel cell.
VV this is what i ended up with as of now.hopping to finish ever thing by weeks end.

pics from my 24 hour spree of fabrication. nothing like the feeling of running on pizza, beer, and soda plus the occasional water.

im going to say it again step sides FTW. also i finished my low profile bed box almost a year ago.

the bed is off.

in the process of tear down. if i did not have the use of a plasma and air hammer i would have completed stage one.

getting an idea of what stays and goes.

rear most cross member completed.

final mock up of tire and charcoal canister.

charcoal canisters new home. trimmed frame boxed and over laid with plate.

^^^ all pics were taken with my new work cell phone.

^^ thank you should have some more here soon.

i been having thoughts on my spare tire placement. like mentioned above future plans are to canti and/ro fuel cell.
so the current location of the spare will be needed at one point or another.

this is what im thinking. spare tire gate that will hold a standing single tire, HF or HL jack, all weather storage box or jerry can. ( i do not have the other items). also bee thinking of a lowpro roof rack for the shell to hold a spare but im not liking the thought of lifting a 80lbs tire above my head.

My cellphone night shot turned day light editing.

so please share your thoughts and criticisms.

went out yesterday and played this along with my truck at the local pit. im riding co dog in this pic.

my truck suffered some carnage. i lost my driver side tail light which i recovered still intact but the light sockets did not fair well. my optima red top did not like riding in the up right position so it decided lay on its side for most of the time. looks beat to hell but the side of it is still solid.

today i finished my receiver. next weekend i will make a bumper with tire gate mount.

truck turned 200 officially a last night. if you do the math she turned 200 a long time ago.

got bored today so i spent an hour with card stock, electrical tape, and a yard stick. mocked up a tank with the dimensions of 26"x26"x10" but slopes up to 8" at the rear portion of the tank.

there was one challenge that i saw with placing the fuel tank rear of the axle. that problem would be relocating the fuel fill tube and do so as clean as possible. it would have been supper straight forward if i had a fleet side bed. i would have done the same as the guy with the yellow straight axle ranger. find a jeep thingy at a wreaking yard.i mean the jeep thingy would work but would not look clean with the flowing lines of the style side bed. but i found a solution to this predicament. i will be using a fuel door off a 08+ sport trac. (refer to the image below to help visualize) from the naked eye the lines of the bed side of the sport trac follow very close to the ranger style side. i would like to get my hands on a contour gauge or card stock and scissors along with time to and put my theory to the test.

In my opinion that would hang way to low

i've seen them hang lower. as long as he has enough clearance with his suspension fully compressed, he's fine.

It doesn't appear to hang much lower than the stock spare....
