Stupid 2000 - V8 swap question

So from reading the available threads, am I to conclude that, 1. there is no simply at all, 2. putting a 289/302/351 w/ a four barrel in place of a 2.5 4 banger and, 3. using the original 5 speed, are all wrong.

The v-8 wont bolt up to the i-4 trans. Mid 90's f-150 with a v-6 have a trans that will if you need 4x4. Otherwise for 2wd pick a good trans and make it fit.

Swapping engine size after 1986 and introduction of fuel injection and the computer to run it are never simple

You CAN put in a carb engine and manual, or pre-computer automatic, transmission
Basically just a couple of wires to power spark system and gauges and of course alternator wiring

The 289 or 302 V8s fit but tight, 351s barely fit exhaust can be an issue
Its the width, the distance between heater box and steering shaft in the engine bay that's the tight spot

I'd say that using Foxbody parts, swapping in a V8 into ANY Ranger is relatively simple. The Foxbody harness was so simple that it was the design used to make the stand-alone harnesses later sold by Ford. Those harnesses were then later copied by various manufacturers.

All in all, a super easy way to install and run EFI powertrains.

And the Explorer pcm is pretty easy to adapt to the Ranger wiring from 2000, so that is a pretty simple swap as well.

2000 is one of the easiest swaps to.do and keep fuel injected.
