You think I’d need to do any lifting or modifying to the body if I were to run the 20x9s? I’d go with some thinner tires to help with the bigness lol, I kinda guessed I would need some spacers from reading all night so I appreciate the help! I appreciate all the information everyone’s leaving this place is the bullocks man thanks again
2 points here:
1. I ran 20" Explorer wheels for a bit - the ones in my profile photo. The truck rode like a lumber wagon, so I sold those and went back to 17" wheels. It rides way better with the 17s since the tire has a lot more sidewall.
2. I have 17 x 8 Mustang wheels on mine now with 265/70-17 Michelin LTX M/S tires. (Those tires are 31.5" diameter.) And I have 1.25" adapters. I had to trim a bit off the rear axle studs, but the fronts were fine. That combination is about as close to the front upper control arm as I am comfortable running. But, you have a rwd truck, and the front suspension is different, so I don't know how that would fit on your truck. There are no clearance issues on the rear with my combo. Based on my experience and what others have stated, I think 32" diameter tires is as large as you can fit without some lift/trim modifications.
