I originally posted this issue as part of my Duraspark conversion thread, but decided to break it out into its own topic to avoid wading through a bunch of old unrelated info.
Looks like my '83 Ranger is suffering from a gummed up throttle linkage. Even trying to manipulate the throttle by hand, when it's free and clear of the carburetor, it sticks. I went to Chiltons to see how to remove it for a thorough inspection and cleaning, but couldn't find instructions for removal/installation. Is it relatively straightforward or are there hoops to jump through to get that out of the truck and then back in? All the old computer control stuff is gone now so all I need to do is remove the actual cable. Any suggestions or things to watch for (or what page it's on in Chiltons) would be very helpful. Thanks.
