so i was driving around last night and i pull into a parking lot and i notice that when i let out on the clutch my rpms are staying up for a couples seconds then they drop slow. i was on my way to del taco, so i hit up the drive thru and the whole way home, i'd take it up to 3000rpm and it would stay up there and and then slowly drop back down and i also noticed my idle was high. around 1100rpm when i got home i turned the truck off and turned it back on and it ran fine. but it happened again on my way to school this morning. any thoughts?

I had the same problem with mine and it ended up being the cam sycro advancing the timing when it should have not been causing the rpm to stay high and mine would accelerate by itself changed it out never ran better buy one from the factory don't buy aftermarket I did only lasted two months

bump

update: so more and more often now i'll be driving around and the rpm's will just stay up and drop slow. but if i turn the truck off and turn it back on it goes away for a while. it hadnt done it for a few weeks but its happening more frequently now. the synchro sounds like the culprit but does anyone have any other ideas?

syncro doesn't make sense to me... it wouldn't keep the motor's rpm up...
