Bought a 4" kit and had new rear leaf springs and they were 3" to short. They said they did not make them anylonger??? Why would my 1983 xlt club cab long box have longer springs??

Could someone have done the Chevy swap in the past? IIRC the idea was longer springs were easier to come by in taller heights or something...

No. This truck is is from original older man who never even took it off rd. All stock. The rough country kit fit good on front end, it was just the rear springs and they said it was only size they made?? 3" shorter than the factory springs on this truck?? Blocks seem to work fine but was just wondering why.

My credo
Giving my truck more money than it deserves.
Going off your profile you have an 88? Be very careful with that lift. I would suggest spacing/getting longer bump stops. The passenger side arm mount will poke a hole in your diff.
