I just moved your post to the brakes forum.

For sure check wheel cylinders and axle seals before putting the new shoes on.

Wheel Cylinders and axle seals??? What would I be looking for exactly ? It's my first time and I only know what I've seen on a handful of YouTube videos but I am mechanically knowledgeable I do HVAC but that does not make a mechanic lol

Should I just go ahead and buy the parts and do them anyways since I'm in there?

Chances are those would be available local if you needed them.

Just look for leakage around the ends of the wheel cylinders. Also for leakage where the axle shaft exits the housing.

Also... pick yourself up a set of brake spring tools. They're reasonable and will make this job much easier on yourself.

Not all hardware kits come with the adjuster hardware. If you live in the rust belt... you will most likely need those.

Rangers had either 9 or 10 inch brakes. You know what size you have... and you have the right parts?

OK I got the adjusters the kit I'm getting doesn't have them but I'm worried about the parts quality, because I'm getting them from amazon😒 but I'm gonna go with Dorman when it comes to brand and I'm getting 9inch but I'm not sure if that's the size but I'm pretty sure that's the right size I have a 97 XLT rear wheel 3.0 and I have the pliers already.
