RC drop bracket has been hitting

ive noticed that the RC drop bracket has been hitting the top of d35.im thinking of chopping the part of the bracket that is hitting will lose 1 bolt. but welding another plate gusset. and by the way how thick is the metal on the casing at the top where its hitting to those d35 axles. i dont have a hole but ill have to do something if i dont want to damage it more

It is quite possible to put a whole in it, there are pictures on here somewhere, but I couldn't find them.... I know I've seen a member who modified the bracket so it would clear as well. Or you can run extended bump stops, but would have to sacrifice some flex.
