Operation of the 95+ Ranger 4wd?

Hey not to knowledgeable on the ranger electric 4wd 95+ so going to ask does the electric shift version get shift signal from the GEM or is there some for module that sends signal to the t-case motor? I'm looking to put a real truck t-case in the explorer and not too sure if I want to go manual shift so exploring the option of electric shift with being able to use the switch on my bezel since previous 95 ex's and rangers had the big boxy push button switch and had more connections on the backside. If it's the GEM that sends signal does anyone know of a way to hooking it up using my regular 4wd switch in the truck? Or does my only option look to be manual shift case? Thanks y'all!
