so i went to a machine shop to get my 2.5l longblock repaired, it spun a bearing and broke a piston rod so that had to be replaced along with the oil pump and i believe the crankshaft had to be turned also, I was first quoted $950 for parts and labor to do the work listed above after i had already pulled the engine out of my truck and took off all the accessory parts (water pump, belt, alternator) but then he said $1060 so i paid him 1060, got the block back with the new oil pump and everything assembled, after a few days of putting everything back on and getting my tranny lined up and everything hooked up i hooked up my starter to crank it over a few times to make sure oil was getting on the rockers before putting the valve cover on but the idiot didnt prime the oil pump before assembling everything, so i got it towed down to his shop and he calls me an hour later telling me he had his mechanic prime it and he would assemble it before any other cars if i gave him $30 so i sucked it up thinking i would be driving that day, the 30 turned into 40 when i got there cuz the guy "did a good job" i got home to find a oil leak from what i thought was the valve cover, i took it off and the idiot messed up on one of the bolts by threading it through the rubber instead of lining it up right and putting the bolt through the metal rings in the valve cover gasket, i replaced it the right way and there is still a small leak coming either from:the valve cover somewhere, maybe the front camshaft seal???? im not sure though, its getting all over my air intake tube and spark plug wires, its small drips but its adding up really quickly, it say it would be bone dry if i drove over 30 miles, please help ive spent 2000 including this morons work and parts and im just about out of money seeing as how the holidays are breathing down my neck:bawling::bawling:

Well, sounds like you got hosed.

Search and disassemble is going to be the only way you'll find that leak though.

maybe the front camshaft seal?
You may be fortunate...if you remove the camshaft bolt, there is an oil passage in it to lubricate the bearings...when that bolt is put back in you need to wrap the shaft with teflon tape or something similar...if you don't you will loose quite a bit of oil...

Hopefully that's all it is...it's an easy fix...and not expensive...
