Bought a 02 XLT 4.0 4x4, solid truck except for the A/C compressor I was told had an unknown issue, Checked all the high and low side switches and tried jumping them, they were all getting power and ground, Next was the fuse and relay, fuses for the A/C were good but the relay wasn't getting any power, Anyone got an idea as to what to trace it back too from there?

Does the dash switch light indicator come on when the A/C is switched on? Also, does the system have any freon charge?

Welcome to TRS :)

2002 Ranger AC is operated by the computer(PCM), but its fairly simple wiring, looks more complicated than it is

The dash switch sends 12v to PCM when you select AC, that is the "demand" signal

The pressure switches are a GROUND path, its important

The AC relay's coil gets 12v from PCM relay, but so do most engine systems so if this wasn't happening the engine wouldn't run
AC relay's coil has no GROUND, PCM controls that

When you select AC, PCM gets the 12v as a trigger
PCM then connects AC relays coil to Pressure switch wire, a GROUND, and AC relay turns on, IF pressure switches are OK

Then AC Relay sends 12volt from fuse 25(10amp) to the AC Clutch
