Hi, I'm not really new to the site, I've been monitoring it for a short while. Since I am a Ford enthusiast I like to see what's going on and see some of the comments and projects y'all have, and sometimes like now I need a little help. So my deepest appreciation to all who try to help and the advice you give to people struggling with making these classics their own.

Well, thanks my original question was for a little 89 Ranger that I picked up. I got it from a feller up the road a bit from me and it's a pretty neat little Ranger, no rust other than surface rust on the frame and a spot on the hood where the paint has come off. I drive it everywhere, but when it's idling like setting in the yard or when you let off the gas going up the road it skips and sputters, as long as you have your foot on the gas it's fine. I pulled the codes and got a 222 and a 334, I replaced the icm and the main coil along with plugs and wires, I also ran 1 and a half cans of seafoam in a half tank of gas and put a half can in the motor through the power brake pipe and still no change. the guy I got it from replaced the fuel pump and starter solenoid, when I got it the fron brakes were locked up (had to drag it on the trailer) since then I replaced the front calipers and the back brake shoes. I also get an intermittent "rear abs light". I've been tinkering with it but have run out of ideas so now I'm just grasping at straws with the sputter, I also replaced the sensor pickup in the differential and still get abs light. I've just about run out of ideas and was looking for some guidance, I've also done a lot of other things (too much to type) trying to correct the sputter. Help please

Today I cleaned the IAC and plugged and unplugged the IAC and MAP with no success, it changed the motor when I did this but still idling the same, but since they had a definite effect on the motor i figured that they are working, I also put my hands on every vacuum line and joint on the motor and found nothing, I ran jumper cables from the battery ground to the motor and body with no success. I've got a new fuel filter for it , probably put it on tomorrow. I'm just throwing money and time at it right now because I've run out of ideas (not smart enough I reckon) any help would be greatly appreciated, tomorrow I'll try to pull the codes again and see if there is anything new, but I also am working on my Cub Cadet with fel, today I replaced the drive shaft and clutch, had to build a new shaft and weld up the clutch arm where the throw out bearing had failed, but I've been trying to divide my time between the Cub and the Ranger, again any help will be greatly appreciated.

I read your original posts, but unfortunately I don't know enough about that generation of Rangers. I am going thru a similar issue with my 94, but with the help of the members here we have narrowed it down to the O2 sensors.

Keep your eyes on your other thread though because that is most likely where you will get the best responses.
