So Dunham Sports had a flash sale this weekend on handguns and that coincided with me having an extra bit of money so I picked up a Tisas 1911A1 Service .45ACP Pistol. Very nice gun, came with 2 magazines, cleaning brush and nice carrying case. All for 329 bucks, 95 less than price on Tisasusa.com and 40 to 50 less than others.

Threw in 50 rounds of fmj for 31 bucks, 20 rounds of hollow points for 25 bucks and a nylon hip/ belt holster for 13 bucks. 430 bucks out the door.

Bonus, the holster works with my Glock 17.

This Pistol is a bit more involved for breaking down than the glock and has more than twice the amount of parts.

Yay!

I've been looking at 22's cause I can afford to shoot it.

The governor thinks I should only have so many bullets... had to pass on a couple because or too much capacity.

I've seen some pretty positive reviews on those. Welcome to the 1911 world.

If you like the 1911 and want .22, check out a GSG 1911. Almost identical to a standard 1911. (They make an upper assembly and magazine that fits a standard 1911.) I've got one and love it. I got mine used and spent a weekend cleaning and polishing internally to get it to consistently fire cheap bulk ammo. (I'd never had a gun that far apart before and broke a couple things. The ambidextrous safety being one of them.) They're imported by ATI now. GSG made them for Sig Sauer at one time too. All the same gun.

It's all metal. And yes if I run out of ammo it would make an excellent bludgeoning weapon
