I noticed in a car and driver article that the society of automotive engineers has now standardized how vehicles get their tow ratings. Obviously this doesn't effect anything retroactively (rangers, since they no longer exist) but what does everyone think of a fully capable ranger being rated at around 5900lbs? My guess is they would lower it based on new rating system if the ranger was still in production. For example Car and Driver lists a new cummins 2500 with a frame mount receiver at only 12,000lbs but notes it is rated for more with a fifth wheel. Not that it matters at this point but I was curious what people thought.
