Be careful, those are all positive rake. They will have a tendency of grabbing. Negative rake of a couple degrees is what I've read is best. You could probably hand file that into those blades...
I’ll run em and see… I cut up a few pieces with the one on the left and can tell that it’s noticeably less grabby than the 8-1/4 blade I had on it before.

Jury is out on the rake angle, I read a lot of people who shared what you said but a lot that like 9” Freud blades that have a slightly positive rake.

The middle/left blade says something to the effect of Designed for DeWalt, Rockwell, B&D saws. Maybe that means table saws or handheld circular saws, hard to say, surely these were made in the RAS era.

Got myself a 12 ton press. After I was knee deep into a hub and bearing job on my DD corolla, I realized I was under equipped for the job. After calling a few shops, i had to find a less expensive way to get back on the road. So I went to HF to look for a press. They only had the floor model left, without the handle. Reg price was $169.99, but with the floor model discount, it was $135. Since I had to wait about a 1/2 hour before they could load it up, she gave me another 10% off, so after the bearing/seal tool set, put me out the door for $163.45. I'm calling that a win, win. Got my car back on the road, and a 12 ton press out of the deal.

I drilled some holes and inserted roll pins to keep the black plates centered on the cross beam.
have fun smushing stuff

now you have an excuse to buy a really big socket set, they are great for various size adapters.

Good deal on the press, I don't use mine much but it is a lifesaver when I do need it.

Be careful with those arbor plates or just trash em and buy/build your own out of mild steel... those are cast iron and have a reputation for shattering under pressure.

The 20 ton is much handier but the 12 is better than the 10 :)

For most stuff I just stack the plates, I know their limitations and haven't managed to break them yet on my 20 ton..

I went shopping for a 1 or 2 ton press. I'm sure I can break enough witht this 12 ton'er before I upgrade to the 20 ton'er

I have one of those but in orange. It's been real handy a number of times. Mostly bearing work.

The physical size is more the advantage of the 20 ton, spacing between the uprights and the distance between the two pieces of channel on the bottom side, but yeah, I've been thinking about an arbor press but don't "need" one so haven't jumped that boat yet...

definately worth the price. I was suprised at how few shops offer this service and the ones that did, gave me a price that said they didn't want to do it.

I've been hemming and hawing about a press from Napa recently. Can usually get a 20% off coupon on their shop equipment, but I got other stuff that needs the money. They are not in the same realm as the HF press, price wise, but compared to a DAKE or similar they are not bad.

They have some real nice ones with an actual hydraulic cylinder that slides left and right instead of a bottle jack, pressure gauge, some of them even have multiple pump handles for slower and faster pumping.

We have a 50TON that looks similar to the one above at work and it's awesome. Can really break some stuff good with it, but the size is what really useful about the bigger ones.

I also had a 25% off coupon for HF.

I also got a new spare tire yesterday from discount tire (where I work while getting my auto tech degree) and while putting it back up when I got home I noticed the dreaded spring hanger rot.

So I used the coupon to buy a new nicer angle grinder.
I had the infamous $10 one, it broke a few months ago and I haven’t had a reason to buy a new one until now.

But…. Like I said in the “what did you do today?” thread, I had my wisdom teeth removed today and am now banned by my oral surgeon from lifting anything for a week. So I have a ‘broken’ truck and can’t fix it.

Did I mention my oral surgeon’s name is Dr. Pirelli?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Did you tell him you don't lift with your teeth?
