Need airbox ideas?

Just performed an engine swap from a 1994 Mustang GT. V8 into a 1989 Bronco II. Having a question on what options there are to shorten the air intake as the factory intake from the Mustang goes right on top of the battery. Is there a modification or kit that can shorten the length or move the intake up by the fuse box? This picture shows the situation.

You might want to try one of the round filter housings from some later model trucks like a 97-ish F150. Then get some aluminum tubing, silicone couplings and clamps off ebay to build the piping you need to connect everything.

My engine bay is different. But it may give you some ideas. 3.0l v6 in 93 Ranger. I extended the filter housing through the inner fender and ran a snorkel back by the windshield.

I moved my battery to the tool box on the bed of my truck.

I flipped the box upside down shortly after this picture the battery was blocking to much air flow. You might be able to build something that has a snorkel to try and draw air from in front of the radiator between the rad and battery.

Thanks for the suggestions. Ended up getting an inexpensive $60 cold air intake kit and did some fabrications on it to make it fit. Basically took out the bend and shot it UNDER the battery tray, so I didn't have to move the tray, and its getting cold air from a nice little spot there. Included pics in case anyone else is considering this. Please don't mind all my temporary wiring work - that was a project in its own to get the 1994 mustang 302 EFI computer to run standalone in the 1989 Bronco II!

Do yourself a favor and make sure it won't take a nice cold drink down there. I had, key word had... a Subaru 2.5rs where the cold air was sitting in the fender above the fender well and I hit a deep puddle going fast at night and water split the plastic liner from the fender and it took a drink.

Nice U-turn with the intake there @Elutheros ! Just curious which kind of aftermarket AC you are running through your firewall - thats the next project for me
