So! After cupla months working at least part of almost every at a friends garage on this truck, with 208K miles, which had sat for at least 5 years-entire undercarriage rusted: calipers/brakes & lines/spring hangers: bad bushings everywhere: sway bar almost rusted thru: new fuel pump & filter(fortunately fuel tank was empty, so no bad fuel concern!!): new carpet/seat covers:
Cleaned up nasty original wheels/new tires. Finally got it running and, pleasantly surprised, runs pretty well after plugs & wires.
Coming from garage 1st time driving it was a cold MD day, so decided to see if the heat worked: turned on & blower made strange, struggling sounds; then HEAVY SMOKE and electric burning smell!!
Got the old blower assy out today(30 deg @ blowing 20; outside, of course!!);
This was definitely the problem!!
