tom moranas products are all racing tested...its very high quality.

but if your building on a budget, i dont think your looking in the right place. while his stuff is very good quality, its a very high price.

as much as id love to build a monster turbo build with that FORGED 3.3 stroker bottom end...its just not cost effective.

well its all gona come togeather a little at a time. i dont plane to get a bunch of things at once. and yes the stroker kit seems mighty appealing. i just want to do things right the first time. its all about quality not quantity.

it doesnt matter how slowly you build it....toms products are still extremely pricey. for the $2,000 price tag of the 3.3 stroker kit, you could easily install a turbo on your stock engine and make more power. if you go forced induction, you can make close to 250HP on this engine without even opening it up. the stroker kit by itself wont make that much, and it will cost a lot more.

if you want more than 250HP, you COULD do the 3.3 stroker and a high boost turbo. im sure 400HP would easily be within your grasp then....but for the cost of the stroker kit AND a turbo, you could build a mean 302 that would make at least as much power.

you heard wrong.

whipple guys run in the 10-12 range regularly. lots of turbo probe guys running about 15 (on a VERY good tune). head gaskets are usually the first thing to go at about 18.

the tune is the key to sucessfully running boost. run a bad tune and you'll burn though the stock pistons at 2 PSI.

I agree that the 3.3L stroker isn't exactly cost effective, but its damn cool. I have yet to see a stroker vulcan!

ill agree with you there. its definitely cool and if i had the money i would build a 400+ HP vulcan just for shits and grins.

i wonder if morana would be willing to part with just a set of forged pistons. i imagine thatd probably push you over the 300HP mark with boost...and they couldnt be too expensive.
