So i just got my woofer and it turns out it is a 4 ohm!! i have a 2ohm on right now but i was wondering if i could put both of them on one amp? my amp gives 600w at 2 ohm's
330w at 4 ohm's
The woofers are rated 400 rms each so should i return it and get a two ohm one?
So could i mix and match or is it a stupid idea?
Need help thanks!!!!

lol that would make 1.3333 ohms and i dont think your amp is stable like that. go get another 4 ohms sub.... wire them in parrell. and that will give you a 2 ohm load. at which your amp will put out 600w. which will give you 300w to each sub.

DAMN! i thought i could get two 2 2 ohm's and it would work fine. I didn't know combining them would actually lower ohms. aaaahhhh.

if you got (2) twos you would have 4ohms or 1 ohms

if your amp is one ohms stable go for it.

I have one at 4 ohm's and one at 2 ohms, i don't think my amp will be able to handle 1 ohm. thats why am asking is there a way to hook them up without burning something?

its actually 1.3333 and no i dont think its stable like that. mine is and there some that are. but there $$$$ so your best bet is to swap one out and get 2 2ohms or 2 4ohms.
which ever is easer. or just run one.

if your thinking about getting abetter amp that can handle odd ohms load..........yoou dont want to know lol

if possible, you really want to get rid of the 2ohm one and get another 4ohm one. then you can wire them in parallel for a 2ohm load, giving them 300 watts each.

With 2 2ohm subs, you will have to wire them in series since your amp is not stable at 1ohm. This will give you a 4ohm load and thus only 165 watts per sub.

Id say either that or get a different amp. If you run 2 2ohm subs and want an amp around 600-800 watts @ 4ohms. Thats gonna be $$$.

Did you buy the 2ohm one locally? As long as models havent changed and its still new in box, theyll let you exchange it for a 4ohm sub? Might be worth a shot.

I dont think 165 watts per sub will work well, but i dont really know. i know its nowhere near ideal but it might be enough and will be your cheapest route. Im sure 4x4fun will post whether or not it'll sound good with that much power, he has more experience with these this.

i dont like to say what i would do cause every ones different. how ever i do agree with. snomaker getting another 4ohms and running them parelle will give a 2ohms load. and will let you get the most out of the amp you have. if you can i think i said that once lol

now if its gonna be super easy to take the 4ohm back and run 2 2ohms. look up your amp see if its 1 ohm stable. if its mono it could be.

if its a pita no matter what sub you get rid of. then id run a single 4ohms. till you can get another 4 ohms.

but running them a 165 wont be baaaaad they will work you wont be getting a the most. thats kinda around the numbers were it will play ok. and not be bother some but if you put it next to a perfect set up. you could tell there is just some thing off. if that makes cents
