so is 3/16 steel plate and .120 wall dom strong enough for a winch bumper the winch will sit on 3/8s plate

i had a winch bumper on my xj made of 3/16" plate, but gusseted well, and it held up good for a while. i did finally bend the plate under the winch trying to pull out a 2500 that was sucked down to its doors in mud with the 12000lb winch and a snatch block, but a sledge fixed that. i say go for it and gusset it well

sweet thanks figured on using plenty of gussets where they are needed and just got a chunk of 1in plate to use for the winch mounting plate
