flex is overrated. all you need is spools/lockers. front and rear.
If I would have had more flex, than these would not have happened:icon_thumby:

Or beer and a welder....

Flex is important, to an extent. The flex on 98+ rangers is unacceptable.

i honestly dont see an issue with the above posted pictures, looks like normal wheeling. Those situations wouldnt be a problem for you if you had front and rear locked.

and i dont think flex would of so much changed those situations... more track width would of though:icon_thumby:

im not trying to be a smart ass like i usually do, I'm being very genuine.

Thats one got decent flex, about half of what I want (maybe I'm unreasonable, I know I'm crazy!), he's got the cage arms, I've heard a couple people don't like em, but I'm getting ideas for my setup with every rig I look at....I try to find the "weak points" with other's rigs, and improve on their limitations...I'm getting some great ideas from ya'll though:icon_thumby:

the only way you will get much more flex than that is linked with air shocks, my goal is to keep this thing street legal here in nevada and also road safe, so im going to stay with coils and radius arms.

now dont get me wrong and think im saying all you need is stock wheeltravel because thats not what im saying, and your truck is becoming far from stock. just trust me, you dont need gobs of flex or any crap like that. Just decent acceptable wheeltravel and most importantly; Lockers... front and rear, they will make more of a difference than flex ever will. and now that you will be much wider, your stability is going to jump through the roof.

i figured thats what you were saying, i definately agree. do you know if some 9 inches came stock with limited slip ? if thats the case, i might just buy a locker for the front for now. whats your suggestion?

that was exactly my thought on the situation, seriously! A set of lockers front and rear and mash on the gas and it would have drove out of that.

and yes many 9 inches had factory limited slip but the 200 bucks you can get a spool for is well worth it.

I've got a buddy running a L/S 8.8 with an ARB Air Locker up front. He doesn't have any trouble whatsoever getting through anything he can throw at his truck; trust me, I've seen it firsthand! A locked rear end would be nice, however, not necessary if you've already got L/S back there. If I were you, I'd wheel it and see. You may end up saving yourself a little bit of money.

I wouldnt waste any time on a LSD. Trust me ive fiddled with it all (mostly all) and i would just spool the rear. Its not NEARLY as bad as some people like to say it is, and you quickly get used to it. For the front... its up to you. If you are going to run hydro assist i would just weld it personally, if not... spend the money on a locker, but unless its an ARB or other selectable, there isnt much of an advantage of a locker over a spool in my experience. Just depends if you are going to go hydro or not, which I would highly recommend.
