""I have this amp's little brother and it runs my 10 inch MA Audio quite well""

so you think this amp would power a ten inch kicker sub just fine? i really dont want to buy a new one. this was given to me.

Thanks!

I have the little brother to the Orion amp I put a link for. The amp you are questioning comes up with these numbers when I search it:

# 25 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms
# 65 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode
# 35 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms

IMHO, that's not enough to power a sub. But if you already have the amp, I say just hook it up and see what you got. If not, the Orion amp in that link will provide plenty of power for you.

The amp you are talking about comes up with the following numbers according to sonic electronix.

# 230 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
# 720 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode
# 360 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms

The amp the OP wants number on is rated at:

# 25 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms
# 65 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode
# 35 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms

About 20% of the power at 4 ohms (460W max compared to 100W max @ 4 ohms). So I really don't think this amp Bassmaster is questioning was intended to run a subwoofer.

Here are the links I used for reference:

No problem. The amp you have sounds like a decent little amp to run the rest of the speakers though.

yes kicker does under rate their stuff, in the box with a new amp you should get a certificate at what the amp actually put out during quality control when they were testing it. like an advertised 400watt rms amp will come with its actual tested output iv seen one with a 472rms certificate. thats 72 amps for FREE!!
