help

Okay so I don't see where exactly I'm suppose to post my own post, not trying to troll on yours but I'm having trouble. I was driving and hit a bad bump truck started to stall and lose power, pulled over and tried to restart it. .it would idle but not go when the gas was pressed. Changed the fuel pump (BC it was going bad anyway). Pulled codes and got codes 157 172 211 218 222 223 224. Should I have disconnected the battery when changing the fuel pump? It will start and die quickly or idle and die as soon as I press the accelerator.. Any help would b much appreciated! 94 ranger splash 2.3L

Were you able to get the code from the dealer??
Indeed I did. As adsm08 advised, I took my proof of ownership down, they pulled the code using the VIN and 10 minutes later, I had both the code and a new key as well.

FYI: the dealer is also able to print a replica window sticker using the VIN. Obviously printed on regular 8.5x11 paper it's not factory 'correct' as would be the original, but it has all the information, including the original MSRP. I found that to be sufficient for my needs.
