Anyone know off hand what is the acceptable variance between measured air temp and what the IAT sensor reads is? Mine reading 10F warmer than measured temp., truck is running lean and has a light stumble under light load when damp as it switches to closed loop. It does this for about 2-3 minutes until it comes up to operating temperature. The ECM is not detecting a misfire or throwing any codes. Not sure where to dig into it. Starts good cold, smooth idle at all times, and runs great warmed up.

Do you have a check engine light on?

I monitor my IAT with the Scangage II.

Sitting still after a highway run, the IAT temp can rise 20-30 degrees higher than actual ambient until you get moving again. Even moving, heat under the hood radiating into the airbox is always going to make it read higher than outside air temp.

I'd look elsewhere for your problem.

This is my question, I can't really find any other fault in the truck that would cause this issue. Even the IAT seemed like a stretch, but with no codes and every other sensor within tolerances, I'm not sure where else to look.

When it's doing this, do you happen to have your A/C on, or anything else that would run the A/C compressor (i.e. defrost) ?

Sent while I should be doing something else

No A/C on the truck.
