I need help removing plasti dip off mustang gt bullit wheels

I bought a set of bullit rims to put on my 89 ranger.
They came with a bunch of coats of dip, the guy
I bought them from said he first got it dipped professionally
And clear coated it and the rest were just dip.
I got all the pure dip off with wd40 goo gone and good off,
But I can't seem to get the thinner coat with clear coat off.
If soaked it in goof off goo gone and power washed and a lot of it
Came off but some spots are being very stubborn.

Any advice ?

Use fire.

Don't use fire per say but a heat gun should help. Always worked for me.

Crazy as this sounds, try some old-fashioned spray oven cleaner...the nasty stuff that your Mom and Grandma used to use. I use it to take botched coats of junk paint off of aluminum outboard motors, but be careful with it...gloves, ventilation, eye protection, etc. Might work, might not...but it'll only cost about $4 to find out.

how bout a paint and varnish stripper from the hardware store

brake or carb cleaner might work also. Just don't get that crap in your eyes. It burns like hell.

The clear coat on my wheels was pretty stubborn I found paint stripper and a pressure washer worked well. Just brush the stripper on careful not to get it on the rubber and let it sit until it melts the coating and blast it good. It took a few times just let it dry good before you apply more stripper. Wear goggles and protective clothes.

I have allways had good luck with jasco just brush in one direction only.

Nail polish remover. What ever you decide to use just try a small area.

I can't see why acetone and steel wool wouldn't pull it right off... gasoline would probably do it too (cheaper than acetone). A real strong pressure washer should take it off...

You should take the tires off the rims before they actually do get messed up by abrasion or chemicals. Then you can go crazy.
