When replacing the hub assembly on a 1998 ranger, there are 2 items inside the assemble on the spline of the axle. (1) A plastic or nylon snap ring (2) a coil like spring i'd assume almost like a key ring.
My question is do I really need this key ring like spring or will the snap ring alone be ok to put back in since it fills the slot in the axle just right as it is?
I'm not sure what the coil is really for. Have called the parts stores all around an none have any idea what i'm talking about.
Thanks in advance for any insight.
