Hi Everyone 86 Ranger 2.9l will have Questions

Installed 6 fuel injectors since cyl 5 never worked at purchase. EGR, EVR valve whines at shutdown (30 seconds till vacuum equalizes, probably not right or is it normal?, (I would think not). (Passenger side) Idle surging.
My possible problem? Replaced EGR sensor and MAP? Runs great with power. Paid $1,300
Could use some help.

Post your issues up in the 2.9 forum. Youll get much better help there.

Sounds like its vacuum related though. Possibly the EGR valve itself or if the hissing is coming from the passenger side fender it could be the vacuum solenoid that actually operates the EGR valve or one of the lines that run to it or from it (theres only two.).

Spend 30 bucks on a innova EEC IV reader or you can try to pull codes the old fashion way with a multimeter (i prefer the actual code reader)...it might lead you in the right direction.
