I need a new starter and am overwhelmed by the options. Obviously it has to fit my 4.0L V6 with a manual transmission. But beyond that, I am seeing LOTS of brands, new vs. remanufactured, and prices from $50 - $200.

Here are the brands I am seeing:

API
WAI Global
Pure Energy
DIY Solutions
Motorcraft
Bosch
TYC
AC Delco
Remy
BBB
OE+

Also, what are your thoughts on new vs. remanufactured?

Thanks!

I've at least heard of TYC in regard to lights. Good quality for the low price point. Dunno if it's the same way with a starter or not.

Also, rebuilds have at least been tested. Not necessarily true of a new part.

Motorcraft is always a good way to go.

Ive burned up numerous napa starters, duralast/autozone seems to do ok though
