I just bought a 2008 XLT Ranger. It has a 3.0 L engine and is an Auto transmission with a limited slip differential. It's a 4 door with 60-40 seats. I previously had a 94 XLT extended cab, which I bought used in 96. I never worked much on the 94. Before I towed the 94 to auto Valhalla I striped off parts, both for their value and to see how the truck was put together. It was a learning experience and a confidence builder. The 94 had OBD1 and I never was able to count the flashes to diag the beast. The 08 I bought of course has OBD2 and is the first car I've had with that capability. I have used the Torque app with a bluetooth dongle on other folks cars, but now that I have OBD2 in my own car I'm going to really learn how to use it. I was a machinist for 20 years for one of my careers and a computer tech for 10 or so in another career. I have a lathe and a Chinese mill/drill in the garage. I have gas and electric welding gear, but I don't call myself a welder. I've had courses in electronics and have been a ham radio guy since 1984. Oh yeah I make videos and post them to Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/user/beatnic50/
