hi im new and didnt know where to post this so here we go:

im running a 93 2.3L 8 plug engine and read on a website called hotrodhigh.ca that flipping the plug wires on the intake side (1 with 4, and 2 with 3) will change the intake side from firing when the exhaust is open to the compression stoke at the same time as the primary side plugs. Any ideas of this or if someone has done it in the past?

Anybody that knows anything about EDIS already knows it's a wasted spark ignition. All plugs should fire on the compression and exhaust stroke.

Don't ever go to that website again. I browsed through it and there was suggestion to run a throttle body spacer! haha.

each coil fires on the combustion stroke together, one slightly retarded of the other....

in 1 coil PACK there are 2 coils, serving 4 cylinders.

since 2 cylinders share 1 coil they both fire at the same time, one cylinder being on the combustion stroke and the other cylinder being on the exhaust stroke and being a "wasted" spark.

the other coil pack on the intake side of the engine fires 15degrees after the exhaust side to ensure complete combustion for emissions ratings
