My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
But yeap.. I've noticed its been trending upwards. We've been around 3.40-3.50 for awhile... now it seems like most places are 3.80.

I have a hard time believing that the Whitehouse has at any time since the days of Jose Escobar been free of any nose candy..
By George, I think you're on to something there...
That and I happen to agree with you. There's no other possible explanation for performance?

I remember it was 50 cents when I got my 73 van in 78. I was working in Dallas and all a sudden it went to 75! before I knew it, it was an even buck no matter where you went, and even then, around Dallas, one could get in a serious squabble about who was actually next in line! :/

The lowest I remember was $0.82 a gallon in 1986-1987.

I remember it being $0.97/gal when I first got my driver’s license. It took $8 to fill up my Geo. And I remember paying inside and getting two Sun-Drops for a buck.

My credo
If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
I bought my first field car in 1966 at 12 years old and drove it around a track I made on my folks property. I'd hang a metal 2 gallon can on the handlebars of my bike and ride about a mile to get gas. If there wasn't a drop in the can, I could fit $.50 in it. In 1970 I was making $1.60 and hour and $3 worth of gas would not fit in my 62 Beetle. When I started at the Sunoco in 1972, 103 octane 260(super premium) was $.46.9 a gallon. $.46.9 sounds cheap today but so does the $1.85 I was making per hour. Stuff wasn't really cheaper, the dollars were bigger.

It just goes to show how much currency has devalued over the years.

We've been $3.69 for a while, the 93 octane my Mustang likes cost me $4.64 last week. 89 is about $.60 cheaper but I can't bring myself to drop the timing back enough to run it.
