Does anyone have any options on these? What one you like better?

I'm looking online for a 28spline LSD for my 8.8. Summit and Jegs seem to seem to have a lot of options for the Eaton Posi style, but no ford style. Doesn't look like summit even sell the ford racing Track-Lok w/ 31 spline anymore, I bought one from them a couple years ago.

The main difference seems to be the shape of the springs. The Ford style seems more stout, but hard to find new.

My credo
I poop in the furnace.
Eaton is hands down better than trac lok in my experience. I had an Eaton in my dodge and it was way grippier than the trac loks I've driven. The trac lok is more comfortable driving on the street but the Eaton would hold way better off road.

Again, just from my experience...

Yukon makes a good one, too.

I seen Yukon made one similar to Eaton, for about a hundred less.

I have a Yukon "aggressive" diff in the 8 inch in my Ranger. I bought it at Carlisle to replace the Auburn Pro in my Mustang, now I need another one for the Mustang.

When it comes to differential carriers, going cheaper is usually not the best course of action. Getting a good deal on a good product is one thing but going with a cheaper brand can be a bad thing. I would chose Eaton over Track-Loc. If you can get a gear driven system over a clutch plate system, even better. Eaton makes one and so does Torsen. No clutches to wear out and not additive is required. Clutch systems aren't bad and a lot of people have been happy with them. So, I'm not bashing them. I'm just making sure you are fully informed before you buy.

I'd recommend away from an Auburn, they're metal cup and cone style limited slip devices and they shed fine metal particles into the oil. The bearings don't like that. I don't like Detroit lockers or Powertrax, either. Too noisy and rude, one of my techs ran a Powertrax in his 2wd 97 Ranger for years, it sounded like the rear end was tearing itself apart when he turned in the parking lot and a Detroit is almost as rude.
