Well...it didn’t...brand new 350 Holley..new mechanical pump..and a braided line between(amazon fittings and ss hose) pump and carb..so I new it would take some extra revolutions to get her primed back up..but it did and just as quick it filled up it was dripping back out...fuel leak..so hit the first roadblock..pops had some Earl’s braided so made up a new line and just got it back on..and in the meantime I read the alternator swap thread.....

So before I try to crank it up again..I’m jumping on the 3g bandwagon! Luckily I have a really good buddy that owns the junkyard 5 minutes from my house..bc I stopped by today and he had an alternator sitting on the shelf among 50-60 others from every manufacturer on the planet.. and had a mid 90s F1fiddy 10 steps from the garage door! Couldn’t believe how lucky I was..got the 3g and harness in 15 minutes for some future aluminum welding I’m going to do for him...zero dollas...still has that new junkyard smell..lol..!! Bout to dive in now on the switcheroo..so we’ll see what kinda mood I’m in about an hour from now..

Hey sgtsandman..preciate your service! 🇺🇸
Well as far as the 3g alternator swap goes...I got half way up the creek before I lost the paddle!...alternator bolted right up already had the serp pulley and it was dead on the money...so I shift my attention to the doner harness...had the 30 lbs of Ford wire loom already stripped off..go to plug it up to start routing it neatly.. and no dice! There is a very small difference in the shape of the connectors...both 3 pin and appear to be the same so hopefully I can pop the pins out and get by with only changing the harness connector shell...once I figure out what year model difference or whatever caused the difference.. I may try to get some close-ups of the two in case someone already knows..but that’s a maybe...lol🥴

Believe I have myself a 110 amp 6g from a later model Taurus..does anyone know if it can be used? I read some are computer controlled which shoots it down..it doesn’t have the little jumper terminal like the 3g..
