I hate where my filter is, dumping all over the starter when I chage oil.

But where else will a filter fit under there?

This is a '98 (IFS) supercab 2WD. All stock.

The only spot I've found so far is left of the transmission bell housing, more or less below the driver's floorboard. But that seems a bit exposed. Any better places?

And what's your favorite relocation kit?

with a kit and a bit of hose you can put it anywhere you want.

early 2000's f-150's mounted them behind the front bumper on the drivers side.

some 4.3 s-10 blazers mounted them up high, behind the drivers side headlight. easy access.

you could try tucking it into the frame rail further back...below the drivers door somewhere.

your truck should have a plastic funnel over the starter to help divert some of the oil over and around the starter, instead of directly onto it.

My filter is mounted to a braket i welded onto my Battery tray. Its easy to get at, and protected. I even went over kill and used hydraulic hose and made my own lines., looks professional, and works well
