There is a C&C at UMC on the 31st if you are interested.
Interested, but probably won't make it. I'll get to one eventually though. I want to see your car!

Some progress.

Busted out my protools 105 and got the main hoop bent, seats and pedals mounted and safety harness bar in

Depending on the type of race, a second person is required for navigation and to point out the hazards you are about to hit.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.

What if the driver has split personality disorder?

This navigator doesn't require a safety seat...

You can't see it in the pics, but the right hand seat has "Co-Driver" written on it in Sharpie, not "Passenger".

No Passengers in a race car, only Drivers and Co-Drivers. :icon_thumby:

I like how clean and simple the cage is. Some nice notch porn there

I'm going to add door bars, main hoop lateral supports and some that go to the rear shock towers, so it's going to get a bit more busy. I was super happy with how the notches came out though. That horizontal bar was tricky; getting both bends the same and getting the notches in at the correct width

Are you setting up the door bars so they can open with the door or do they have to be fixed into place making you crawl in and out the side window?

They'll be bolted into place so I'll have to climb over them to get in. They won't be too high though, so it won't be too terrible.

Something like this

those don't look like they'd be too bad to get over regularly, but i've never tried to get into a low caged car either. Mine have to go straight across per ultra 4 rules, which can be pretty annoying. this is just a race car right? not going to drive it around at all?
