explorer sport tracs

so i'm looking into getting one of the with the 4.6 or an f150 with the 5.4.

ive driven plenty of 98+ f150s with every motor up t 2008. but never a sport trac.
does any one have one, if so whats your honest opinion on it?
but i only want one with a 4.6, 2004 and up.

pros and cons of them? mild towing will be involved

My dad has a '05 F-150 with a 2v 4.6. IMO it is about the best of both worlds.

You get the ubber nice comfy truck with a darn near bulletproof engine. You don't have the breaking off plug problem like a 3V (5.4 or 4.6) and you don't have the pricy phaser issues like a 3v too.

The 3v 5.4 are very unforgiving on oil changes, the phasers will go out and it is expensive or time consuming to get them changed out. Don't really hear so much of it with the 4.6 though, not near as many 3v 4.6 trucks of that vintage in my area.

The parents have an '02 Explorer which I think it similar to the ST... if it was my first Ford it would have been my last.

not interested in an f150 with a 4.6, only want one if it has the 5.4. but a sport trac with the 4.6 sounds pretty fun to me. i'm not interested in winning any drag races but the f150's with the 4.6 are too agonizingly slow and underpowered for me. my ex had a 2008 5.4 crew cab and that was the best truck i've ever driven. but my main concern is the sport tracs
