I have always been partial to the dark ford blue, not the lighter blue. Cat yellow would be kind of neat too...BTW how do you think a 2.8 would look in Daytona yellow paint...a hint of things to come.
What happened to using the 289. Not run or would it be cheaper to find a running 302.
The 289 has a scored crank, a scored piston, and the heads need checked out too while I am there, they might still have the iron valve seats. By the time you get the crank turned, the block bored, a set of pistons and gaskets and have the heads gone thru it is a fairly decent chunk of change.
But I heard a running 302 in a Grand Marquis for $50 on the radio I am thinking about, you can year it run. Then I duraspark it, slap on my 2bbl 289 intake manifold and go.
