So I stumbled on a random electrical malfunction in my 2.5 Ranger. Now I've previously done a 4.0 swap in my Bronco II but they are different engines and different wire routings. It's pretty simple. Randomly blowing fuses. Then battery gauge disappears to zero. Pop the hood. Damn. Fuses blown, and melted alternator charging wire. No big deal. Replace it. Except it melted 3 times after. Wrapped it in some heat insulating tape and electrical tape so it wouldn't conduct on a ground. It's fine. Just posting to help some other unfortunate person who's stuck on the side of the highway with only vise grips and feet.
