Hey everyone I have a 97 2.3l rwd 5 speed xlt. I'm looking to do a fan conversion and iv tried searching and I find alot for 3.0 4.0 etc but haven't stumbled across anything solid on the 2.3l. I can't find an oem one or even a oe one any where and I don't want to throw on a 25 year old one from a junkyard. If anyone has done a efan conversion on the 2.3lcan you please let me know how you did it , what you got for parts (or the brand) and maybe a step by step hook up? Thank you in advanced and sorry if this has been asked a million times. Also a buddy of mine his friend was on the hwy and his blew apart and tore everything up. That's the main reason for asking so it dosnt happen to me and we can both get good running rangers lol.

Just go to the store and buy a electric fan kit? They have the ones that attach directly though the fins in the radiator. They have worked fine for me. I would buy the largest diameter that will fit. If you have room for a 16 inch diameter fan, buy it and mount it up.

Do you have A/C? If you do, the wiring is a little more complex.

All of them, even the higher priced ones, are a universal fit and require some custom installation If your stock fan is in good shape with no cracks, you may be better off keeping it.

It might be worth considering just replacing the fan blades itself with new ones.

Like mentioned above, electric fan kits are universal and have to be adapted to fit.

I looked a little bit, the original fan may not be available. You may indeed have to retro fit a electric fan on there. You will have to bone up on how to install it and wire it in. The wiring is the hard part. Like I said the aftermarket fans come with a kit that you stick through the fins of the radiator. It doesn't sound that great in theory, but in practice I haven't had any problems doing it that way.

Four cylinder Mustangs came from the factory with an electric fan. You would have to build a circuit to turn it on with engine temp or A/C on, but that's how I would do it.
