I am looking at putting headers on my 3.0. would it hurt it if i removed the EGR from the truck to accomodate headers and exhaust mods

you can but most likely you will get a check engine light

You can bypass it by moving some hoses on the dpfe sensor and not get a cel. PM me for details on how to do it. And unless you have to pass emissions, removing the egr is a no brainer. It hurts performance and cruds up the engine.
