My Ranger has a 4.0 from a 91 Explorer swapped in recently (auto, 4x4).
Haven't had a CEL yet, but plugged in my rinky-dink code reader and got code 411 during KOER test. "Cannot control RPM during KOER low RPM check"
The only irregularities about the swap: A/C had been removed.
The only irregularities about how the motor runs: sometimes when somewhere between cold and warm it idles high (1100 ish) and if I blip the throttle it will settle down to it's usual 800-900 rpm. Also, if I hold the RPM at a constant while idling it will slowly wander up and down within 50-100RPM and will continue to do so indefinitely.
Does this code 411 indicate an issue with the IAC?
The IAC was cleaned and checked during the swap, it moved as it should without visible excessive wear.
I plan to do the resistance tests on the IAC/harness that I found elsewhere, but currently it's snowing heavily and since I have no shelter I've decided it can wait.
Thanks.
